I was reading a blog post titled, "Twitter & Facebook Are Shutting Down!" by Scott Williams. Very sobering post and it really got me thinking. Can you imagine if Twitter, Facebook and Myspace shutdown?
These familiar collaborative spaces have become relational "crack" in our present generation. We are such a "connected" society now I sometimes wonder the real positive or negative value these social spaces play in the overall health of any of our relationships.
Living out in the country, my family is subjected to occasional power outages where we are instantly teleported back to the days of old, where running water, heat and the things we rely on everyday to just work all of a sudden don't! Yes, we have a generator, but you're missing the point...remember, we are talking about being completely unplugged - fading to black.
What would the impact be on personal lives or places of business, if all of a sudden these social spaces were just off? With our world quickly evolving into an online, iGeneration culture...we would be instantly lost!
